This is pretty funny, all the washing the comforter woes. His didn't turn out well, it sat wet too long and something blue bled onto it (jeans from another wet load?) and the blood he got on it from a scrapped ankle didn't come out well and the colors themselves bled some (yeah, that's a lot of bleeding!). But it's clean and dry. And the Laundromat wasn't bad - warm and not busy. Got some reading done. No where near as hellish as the one we used in Alexandria last year. It was always packed and little scary. This was quiet enough to leave my purse when I went to the bathroom. There's a laundry/dry cleaner attached - actually in the front of the "store" so it's always well maintained. There were even hangers on all the racks to use and plenty of rolly carts. Ahhhhh, the simple pleasures.
While I was there a man and his son, around 14-ish, skinny as a rail, came in. Had probably 40 trash bags of laundry. Seriously, I've never seen so much laundry in my life. Maybe all-together. They used, I think, 10 LARGE washers. All kid's clothes. Mostly boys, some girls. I saw a lot of it because they were in the same aisle and the 14 year had to ask about every piece he put in: black tee-shirt w/ red logo? Red or darks? Prints just baffled him. I sold them back $15 in quarters I'd changed. It was odd, he spoke very well, sounded educated, dressed well enough for Saturday at the laundry mat. Hard to tell on a 14 year old rail, they all look strange, especially when it's freezing outside. Like they were doing laundry for an orphanage or a camp or something.

I will post a picture of another of my MIL's quilts tomorrow. She made one for my son for his birthday last year. I'll photograph it while I'm here and post it. As always, it's all hand done.
