And I cut out Simplicity 3775, the view the model's wearing. The Slapdash Sewist made this a couple of times
and it looked great. Here is her review that convinced me to try it. My fabric is a lightweight knit from (you guessed it) G Street's THE WALL. It's supposed to be pretty easy to make. I hope so because cutting it out was a bear. The front and back of the skirt, midriff, and band are all the same pieces so you have cut, mark and reuse the pattern pieces over and over. It took forever! I haven't made many Simplicity patterns. I like the way they actually fold the pattern pieces instead of just wadding it into the envelope like BMV do. And they give you finished garment sizes. A lot ease, though for a knit dress, so I cut down a size.
I must be counting on the end of winter, I'm making a summer dress. Yea!
Summer, yeah baby. Done with this snow s**t. Why do I think you have a secret quilt going? K
ReplyDeleteCute dress. I like the shirred waist. It's very feminine and summery looking.
ReplyDeleteI think this pattern will look really good on you; you have the figure to handle it!

Love the dress. I am so glad to see someone else loving fabric.com too! Hope you got to take advantage of the quilting cottons/prints sale.
ReplyDeleteHey, I made this dress! It's one of my favorites ever. Did you finish it?
