The Plan for the Vogue #1

My BMV patterns arrived yesterday, so now I can get started on the Vogue wrap muslin. This is a two-fold new trial: knits and a Vogue pattern. I don't like the way the top is lined on both pieces of the front, so I'm thinking about making a self-interface instead.
The Plan: skip hemming back of neck as first step. After assembling the front except last shoulder attachment, measure, cut and create interfacing. I think 3 inches: 5/8 for seam allowance, 5/8 for hem, leaves 1 3/4 to "show". I'll make final judgement based on the fabric weight. Alternatively, use pre-make hem tape. Lace? or other? Remember to make the back neck rounded: Use the pattern back for the pattern, the front can be straight. Hem the "outside" edge, trim, clip as necessary. Attach to garment in one piece, starting at the already attached side and just getting close to the edge. Because that edge won't be in the side seam, finish and clip before attaching. Go up, around neckline and down the the other front piece. The final end of this can be included in the side seam. This will eliminate weight and bulk in the front. I may need to do the same on the bottoms of the front pieces, but with more/less fabric to allow nice hemming edge. Again, use pattern to cut the interface. This time apply before attaching either side seam. You will have to make the back seam to match up before attaching back to front.
Will the sleeves be long enough for long? May want to add, not a fan of 3/4. But I have short arms, so it may take care of itself with just a smaller hem.
This should give me a good idea for the "real" one, and have a weekend shirt.
