The Plan for the R/B/W Plaid, part I

Okay, now I'm in a quandry. I now have 2 projects that I want to get done. I think, tonight, I may make a trial pattern out of Newprint from my green skirt that I want to use as a pattern for the RBW. I may even make a run up to Hancocks and find a cheap woven to sew up and see if it works. I want this one done now, while the fabric is still in style and the season is right for wearing wool. I also probably need to line it. I'd love to underline it and work on Hong Kong finishing, but that may be a bit too aggressive. Edges will need finishing, though or it will ravel away, as it is loosely woven. It's only a four piece pattern: 2 back, 1 front and waist facing. The one I own (RTW) has a ribbon waist trim, I like that and may try it if I can find a wide enough ribbon. Or maybe add a black belt?

Sew.... Tonight I will make my pattern, go to Hancock's, practice my finishing. That should do me. And tomorrow night I can make my muslin, at least thru basting together for fit and shape. Then do my skirt this weekend. And wash the knit so I can use it. This not having a washer/dryer thing is really starting to wear thin! Then I'll be ready for Vogue.
