We built the massive Ikea shelf on Saturday, really wasn't too bad. The guys that delivered my furniture said it took them about 4 hours, it took us about 1.5, maybe. A lot of repetition and the last 2 pieces took some fenageling, but it really wasn't a big deal. We now have ALL the boxes gone and even my sewing room is done. In fact, I've used it. Made a couple of pillow covers (whoopie!) and a cover for the coffee table to turn it into an ottoman, sortof. Also recovered the diningroom chairs, but that didn't involve any actual sewing. I'm washing the fabric right now - ok, it's actually in the dryer - for a knit shirt. NewLook 6721 (?), need to look up the number. Just a simple t-shirt with raglan sleeves and a neck band. I found some black & white 2way stretch knit at Hancocks to use. I may make a simple skirt to go with, if I like it okay. I'll try to get it done tomorrow night. Pattern's ready to use now. It could be cute for summer wear.
I'll post some pics of my room when I find the cable to my camera - on its last legs, for that matter. It doesn't want to stay "on" when openned. Sometimes can get a photo, but usually not.
Went back to Ikea today, got a topper for my bed, hope it helps, pretty hard so far. Couple other things, sheepskin rug, sheets, lamps. Think we may be moved in. I want to work on my curtains some, maybe tomorrow night. Didn't want to take them back down tonight.
Sewing machine's acting odd, though. Real jerky at slow speeds, got all jammed up and had to take it apart when I first started yesterday. I think I may have to take it back. Hate that....
