I'm Back!!!!

Sorry lurkers, friends and curiousity seekers, it's been a while since I've posted. I've just been really busy, including a few days in Florida - I have the peeling shoulders to prove it.

I'm am almost done with my JCC, I'll officially finish in the morning. It includes 2 skirts I made, 1 shirt I made, a beaded necklace I made and a purchased blouse. I am very happy with my skirts, the top I made is kinda iffy. I will take photos in the morning and post them this weekend. So youse guys gets a sneak peek. It's against the rules to post flat photos, so I'll redo them in the AM in the daylight.

Let's talk about the top. I really like this pattern when I used it before and thought it fit well. Well, I was wrong. It's too big. I had this big light bulb moment when I tried it on, that I really need to be sizing down and doing a FBA. It gaps in the back at the zipper, the shoulder seams are beyond my shoulders. And I put some fancy-dancy stitching on the sleeves to dress it up just a tad. The first sleeve did nicely. Very subtle, tone on tone, just barely shows up. The second, with no changes on my part, just looks different. Too bold, the pattern isn't "even" and it puckered some. I may have to completely re-do the sleeves, or even remove them. I don't think the pic's will show this - I have a learning curve to conquer on my camera.

  1. They look good to me. Given I've not come close to getting the JCC done, I think you've done well. Waiting to see them "live". K
