No Title

Just a catch up of projects. I'm going to Detroit for the weekend - it's my son's birthday, assuming yet another blizzard doesn't ground me. This most recent one is probably going to miss us. Good.
So, here you go:

I finished my Burda pants, finally. I like, don't love them. There's a little something going on in the front and don't know what it is. They have no back wrinkles, but the front is a little funky. These are from a stretch wool blend from Fabric Mart (pretty sure about that). I didn't line them to keep the stretch. Ideas on the front? They don't feel too small and they don't feel too short in the crotch. BUT, I do want it noted that I am wearing shoes.
My second jelly roll knock off quilt. Just a little pic. Because it's pretty.
And my new yarn from Fibre Space. I was thinking hooded scarf, but I'll probably do a drapey cowl instead. It's Malabrigo - deep earth, worsted.
I'm too lazy to hunt down the links for you tonight. Sorry.

  1. I don't think you could do the alteration on these trousers, but it looks like the pleats are too far over. Otherwise some Nancy Gantz?

  2. It may be that if you let out the front inside seam, those smile lines will disappear. Have a good trip to our state and a good visit with your son. Maybe you'll squeeze in a trip to Habermans.

  3. Your pants look good to me. These other expert seamstresses can help you better than I. Little kids clothes are so much easier to fit!
I love the fabrics in your jelly roll knockoff!

  4. I don't think they're too tight, I think maybe there's too much fabric in the front crotch area. I noticed you've posted on SG, so I'm sure you'll receive lots of good advice.

Have a good visit with your son.

  5. beebee, I am having the same issue with my pants. According to a book I recently bought about pant fitting, those wrinkles which point to the crotch indicate that you need a little more length in the front crotch curve. Victoria at ten thousand hours of sewing shared this post which inspired me to buy the book.
I do hope you figure the fit out. The pants really aren't too bad, and I love the fabric.
